ThanksBot is a Discord bot operated by LuhCaran. It rewards members who thank each other by giving points, tracking a leaderboard, and assigning roles at point thresholds. This page explains what data ThanksBot collects, why, and how you can control it.

ThanksBot reads message content (a privileged Discord permission) only to detect thank-you words and mentions/replies in real time. The text of your messages is never stored — only the resulting point counts and timestamps described above.
We process this data under our legitimate interest in operating the bot's core functionality (points, leaderboard, autoroles) that you and server admins knowingly opt into by adding and using the bot.
Data is shared with Discord (necessarily, as the platform the bot runs on) and stored on our own self-hosted database, which no other third party can access. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or other companies.
Points, thank counts, and configuration data are kept for as long as the bot remains in your server. When the bot is removed from a server, that server's data is deleted from our database. You can also ask us to delete your individual record at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Data is stored on a self-hosted, access-restricted database. We take reasonable technical measures to protect it, but no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us on Discord: @luhcaran. We will respond within one month.
ThanksBot is intended for use in accordance with Discord's own Terms of Service, which require users to be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from users below this age.
Our infrastructure is self-hosted and located in France. Data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.
If we make a substantial change to this policy (for example, collecting a new type of data), we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
